Cookie Policy

Effective date: 30 August 2026

Last updated: 30 August 2026

Version 1.0

This Cookie Policy explains how Football Express uses cookies, local storage and similar storage and access technologies.

Football Express is operated under the Six Platforms brand in India.

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and storage technologies?

Cookies are small pieces of information that websites may store in a browser and access later.

Websites and applications can also use technologies that perform similar functions, including:

  • local storage;
  • browser storage;
  • scripts and tags;
  • pixels;
  • identifiers; and
  • other technologies that store information on, or access information from, a user’s device.

Privacy rules in some jurisdictions apply to these technologies whether or not they technically use a traditional browser cookie.

In this Policy, storage technologies means cookies, local storage and comparable storage or access mechanisms.

2. Football Express v1 storage model

Football Express deliberately uses a limited storage model.

The current categories are:

  • Necessary — active where required for essential functionality or functionality specifically requested by you;
  • Functional — optional and off by default before you choose it; and
  • Analytics — optional and off by default before you choose it.

Football Express v1 does not currently intentionally deploy a marketing or advertising-consent category because it does not currently use behavioural advertising or advertising trackers.

3. Necessary storage

Necessary storage supports essential service functions, security, privacy choices or functionality specifically requested by the user.

Examples include:

Privacy consent record

Football Express stores a versioned first-party privacy preference record currently identified internally as:

fe-privacy-consent-v2

It records:

  • consent schema version;
  • Necessary status;
  • Functional choice;
  • Analytics choice;
  • GPC state when detected;
  • the time the preference was saved; and
  • the expiry time.

The preference expires after approximately six months.

Missing, invalid, expired or incompatible preference records result in Football Express requesting a fresh privacy choice.

Prediction and voting identifier

When you actually submit a prediction or vote, Football Express may create a local browser identifier currently identified internally as:

fe-anonymous-voter-key

It helps:

  • prevent duplicate voting;
  • associate a vote with the participating browser;
  • preserve voting state; and
  • protect voting integrity.

It is not created merely because you browse Football Express or view prediction totals.

An existing legacy vote may cause an existing identifier to be migrated so that previous voting state is not lost.

4. Appearance preference

Football Express may locally remember the appearance or theme you expressly choose.

The current first-party storage key is:

fe-theme

This preference allows Football Express to restore your chosen appearance.

This is separate from Analytics consent and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

You can change the theme through Football Express controls or remove the stored preference through browser/site-data controls.

5. Functional storage

Functional storage provides optional convenience features.

It is off by default before you choose it.

Recent searches

If you enable Functional storage, Football Express may save recent searches locally using:

fe-recent-searches

This allows previous searches to be displayed again on the same browser/device.

If Functional storage is rejected:

  • normal search continues to operate;
  • Football Express does not persist new recent-search history through this feature.

If Functional permission is withdrawn:

  • persistent recent-search use stops; and
  • Football Express clears fe-recent-searches storage under its control.

6. Analytics storage

Analytics is optional and is off by default.

Football Express contains a consent-controlled Google Analytics 4 (GA4) integration.

GA4 becomes operational only if:

  1. a valid Football Express GA measurement ID is configured; and
  2. you have granted Analytics permission.

Before Analytics permission:

  • the GA script is not loaded;
  • GA is not initialised; and
  • Football Express does not intentionally send Google Analytics requests.

If you grant Analytics permission, Football Express loads and initialises GA once for the configured property.

7. Google Analytics technologies

When Analytics is enabled, Google Analytics may use technologies including cookies whose names commonly begin with:

_ga

and property-specific forms such as:

_ga_<identifier>

These may be used to distinguish visits and support aggregate analytics measurement.

The precise duration of Google Analytics cookies may depend on Google Analytics configuration, browser controls and Google’s implementation.

Football Express does not intentionally activate Google Analytics before Analytics permission.

8. What Football Express uses Google Analytics for

Where consented, Google Analytics is used to understand matters such as:

  • traffic volumes;
  • pages viewed;
  • general navigation patterns;
  • feature interactions;
  • technical performance; and
  • aggregated service usage.

The purpose is to understand and improve Football Express.

For v1, Football Express does not intentionally enable through this integration:

  • Google Signals;
  • remarketing;
  • personalised advertising;
  • enhanced conversions;
  • ad_user_data advertising consent; or
  • ad_personalization.

9. Withdrawing Analytics permission

You can withdraw Analytics permission at any time through Privacy Settings.

When you withdraw it, Football Express:

  • updates the local privacy choice;
  • disables future collection for the configured Football Express GA property; and
  • attempts to delete JavaScript-accessible _ga cookies under the Football Express scope.

Browser security, cookie path/domain settings and third-party restrictions may prevent Football Express from deleting every possible analytics cookie.

A previously loaded GA JavaScript resource may remain in memory during the current page session, but future Football Express analytics collection is disabled.

10. Privacy Settings

On first use without a valid stored preference, Football Express presents Your privacy choices.

Optional technologies are off before you choose them.

The available choices include:

  • Accept all optional
  • Reject optional
  • Manage preferences

Manage Preferences allows separate control of:

Necessary

Always active where required.

Functional

Optional. Off by default.

Analytics

Optional. Off by default.

The preference screen also allows users to:

  • Accept all;
  • Reject optional; or
  • Save choices.

A permanent Privacy Settings action is available from the Football Express footer so choices can be changed later.

11. How long Football Express remembers privacy choices

The current consent preference expires after approximately six months.

Football Express may request a fresh choice earlier where:

  • the consent schema changes;
  • the stored record becomes invalid;
  • our relevant storage purposes materially change;
  • a relevant new third party is introduced; or
  • applicable law requires renewed consent.

A change to optional technologies will not be treated as covered by old consent where fresh consent is legally required.

12. Global Privacy Control

Football Express detects and records a browser-provided Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal when preferences are saved.

Football Express v1 does not currently sell personal information or intentionally share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so GPC currently has no sale/sharing activity to disable.

If processing changes and applicable law requires the signal to control that processing, Football Express will honour the signal accordingly.

13. Technologies not currently used in v1

Football Express v1 does not currently intentionally deploy:

  • Google AdSense;
  • Google Ad Manager;
  • behavioural advertising cookies;
  • personalised-advertising cookies;
  • Meta Pixel;
  • remarketing trackers;
  • cross-site advertising profiles;
  • precise-location trackers;
  • advertising fingerprinting;
  • Hotjar;
  • session-replay tools;
  • heatmaps;
  • social-media tracking pixels; or
  • large advertising-vendor/IAB TCF lists.

If these practices materially change, Football Express will review its Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and consent architecture.

14. Third-party links

Football Express contains links to external destinations such as:

  • Google Play;
  • Google Maps;
  • Facebook;
  • Instagram;
  • X;
  • YouTube;
  • LinkedIn;
  • Six Platforms;
  • football organisations; and
  • other third-party websites.

A normal external link does not mean that the destination sets storage merely because the Football Express page containing the link is viewed.

When you follow the external link, the third party’s own privacy and storage practices apply.

15. Browser controls

Your browser may allow you to:

  • inspect site data;
  • delete cookies;
  • clear local storage;
  • block storage;
  • restrict third-party cookies;
  • use private browsing; or
  • use tracking-protection features.

Deleting Football Express site data may also delete:

  • your appearance preference;
  • saved privacy choices;
  • recent searches;
  • voting state; and
  • other locally stored information.

If the privacy-consent record is removed, Football Express will request a new choice.

16. Mobile applications

Storage and access technologies can also apply in mobile applications.

The existing Football Express Android application is distributed through Google Play.

Google Play and the operating system may independently process information according to their own privacy practices.

The current Football Express development repository does not contain the original historical Android native source or AndroidManifest, so historical native permission configuration cannot presently be fully audited from this repository.

17. Future advertising or additional technologies

If Football Express later introduces technologies such as:

  • programmatic advertising;
  • Google AdSense or Ad Manager;
  • remarketing;
  • personalised advertising;
  • advertising measurement;
  • material new analytics vendors;
  • publisher embeds; or
  • other third-party trackers,

we will reassess whether a certified consent-management platform, additional categories, vendor controls or other disclosures are required.

Fresh consent will be requested where required by applicable law.

18. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Policy when:

  • storage technologies change;
  • Google Analytics configuration materially changes;
  • new third parties are introduced;
  • advertising is introduced;
  • new functionality affects browser storage; or
  • legal requirements change.

The “Last updated” date will be revised.

Where a change requires fresh consent, Football Express will request a new choice.
